The Berwick Slow Food Management Committee
Berwick Slow Food group is run by a team of volunteers who make up the Management Committee, including three elected officers (Chair, Treasurer and Secretary) as well as up to eight other elected members who share various roles including a Slow Food UK Liaison member, Events Coordinator, Communications & Marketing Coordinator and the Berwick Food & Beer Festival Director/s.
The Management Committee is responsible for organising the annual Berwick Food & Beer Festival; putting on a programme of events (including socials occasions, talks, educational workshops and producer visits and tastings); advocating for good, clean and fair food for all in our local area; and supporting and promoting local and regional food producers.

I retired a few years ago from a long career in social and community work. My interest in slow food has grown from recognising the connection between poor nutrition and poor performance, particularly poor mental and physical health. I believe everyone has a right to have access to good food on a daily basis and good food knowledge.
